The quick answer

Check the application status in Absher under visa services, or through the MOI visa enquiry using the application number, passport number and nationality. Approval and rejection updates appear there once processed.

Where to check

Use Absher if you applied as the sponsor, or the public MOI visa enquiry to verify using the application and passport details.

1

Via Absher

Absher is the main government portal for residents and citizens.

  1. Go to the Absher portal at absher.sa and log in with your username and password, or register through the Nafath app.
  2. Open the 'My Services' section and choose 'Services'.
  3. Select 'Reports' and then 'Documents' (or 'Alien Control').
  4. Your Iqama details, including the expiry date, will be displayed on screen.

2

Via MOI (Ministry of Interior)

MOI (Ministry of Interior) is the Ministry of Interior e-services portal.

  1. Open the MOI e-services portal at moi.gov.sa.
  2. Switch the language to English from the top menu if needed.
  3. Go to 'E-Services' and then the 'Passports' (Jawazat) services.
  4. Choose the query service, enter your Iqama number and the verification code, then submit.
Open MOI (Ministry of Interior) →

What the result tells you

The status shows whether the application is under process, approved, or rejected. Once approved, the visa can be printed for the relative to carry and present on arrival.

If it is rejected, the reason is not always detailed. Re-checking the eligibility conditions and documents usually points to what to fix before reapplying.
