How we verify our information
Last reviewed:
CheckIqama.com publishes guides on Saudi residency, visas and government services. Because these topics affect people's legal status, money and travel, accuracy matters more than speed. This page explains exactly how we research, verify and maintain what we publish, so you can judge how much to trust it.
Our sources are official, not second-hand
Every factual claim in our guides, such as a fee, a deadline, a penalty or a process step, is checked against the official source that actually governs it. The primary sources we rely on are:
- Absher — the Ministry of Interior services portal
- Muqeem — residency and visa-validity services
- Ministry of Interior (MOI)
- The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat)
- Saudi eVisa portal and the Nusuk platform for tourism and Umrah
Where a guide states a specific figure or rule, we link to the official portal so you can confirm it yourself and complete the actual transaction there.
We date everything, and we re-check it
Saudi rules change. Fees are revised, grace periods are introduced, and penalties are adjusted. That is why every guide carries a visible "Last reviewed" date. The date tells you when we last checked the page against its official source, not simply when it was first written.
For figures that change often, we say so plainly and point you to the official portal for the live amount, rather than presenting a number as permanent.
What we are, and what we are not
CheckIqama.com is an independent informational publisher. Our guides are written and maintained by our editorial team, whose role is to research official sources, explain them in plain English, and keep them current. We do not claim first-hand or personal immigration experience, and we never present opinion as official guidance.
We are not affiliated with the Government of Saudi Arabia or any official body. We are not lawyers or immigration advisors, and nothing here is legal advice. We do not collect, process or store anyone's Iqama or personal data. For any official transaction or decision, always use the government portals and, where your situation is complex, seek qualified professional advice.
How to flag an error
If you spot something that looks out of date or incorrect, please tell us through our contact page. We take corrections seriously and update the affected guide, along with its review date, once we have verified the change against the official source.
