A final exit visa can often be cancelled by the sponsor through Absher if you have not yet left and it is still within the valid window. After the deadline passes, a cancellation charge can apply. The sponsor controls the request.
Where cancellation happens
Cancellation is requested by the sponsor through the official portal, the same place the visa was issued.
Via Absher
Absher is the main government portal for residents and citizens.
- Go to the Absher portal at absher.sa and log in with your username and password, or register through the Nafath app.
- Open the 'My Services' section and choose 'Services'.
- Select 'Reports' and then 'Documents' (or 'Alien Control').
- Your Iqama details, including the expiry date, will be displayed on screen.
When cancellation is possible
If you change your mind before travelling and the visa is still within its window, the sponsor can usually cancel it so your residency continues. This needs to be done before you exit the Kingdom on it.
Once you have actually departed on a final exit visa, your residency has ended and it cannot simply be undone — returning would require a new visa. Timing is everything.
