How to Activate Your Absher Account

Registering Absher is only half the job. Until you activate the account, the most useful services stay locked. This guide covers the three ways to activate: the Nafath app, a bank ATM, and a self-service kiosk.

The quick answer

Activate your account through the Nafath app (fastest, fully online), at a bank ATM linked to your account, or at an Absher self-service kiosk. Once activated, the full range of services unlocks.

Option 1: Nafath app (fastest)

Nafath is the national identity app and the simplest route. After installing it and registering with your Iqama, you confirm your identity digitally, which activates the linked Absher account without leaving home.

This is the recommended option for most expats because it needs no trip to a bank or kiosk.

Option 2: Bank ATM

If your bank account is registered in your name, many ATMs offer an Absher activation option in their menu. You authenticate with your bank card and the activation is applied to your account.

This suits people who already do their banking in person and prefer not to use the app.

Option 3: Self-service kiosk

Absher self-service kiosks, found in some government and public locations, can activate the account after verifying your identity, sometimes including biometrics.

Use this if the app and ATM routes are not available to you.

Frequently asked questions

Which activation method is fastest?

The Nafath app is usually fastest because it is fully online and needs no trip to a bank or kiosk.

Do I have to activate, or is registration enough?

Where can I find official information?

Always rely on the official government portals such as absher.sa and moi.gov.sa for the most accurate, up-to-date information about your residency.
