How to Check Iqama on Absher
Absher gives you the most complete view of your Iqama of any official platform, and if you have your own account, checking your expiry date takes under a minute. This guide focuses specifically on the Absher method — how to log in with Nafath, exactly where the Iqama details live in the menu, and how to fix the most common Absher login problems.
To check your Iqama on Absher: log in at absher.sa or in the app, approve the login through Nafath, open 'My Services', then go to the documents or alien-control section where your Iqama number and expiry date are shown. It is the most complete method because it also lets you manage visas and documents — but it requires your own personal account, which not every worker has.
Checking your Iqama on Absher, step by step
Absher is the individual government services portal. Follow these steps once you have personal access. If your employer controls your account, see our guide on checking without Absher instead.
Via Absher
Absher is the main government portal for residents and citizens.
- Go to the Absher portal at absher.sa and log in with your username and password, or register through the Nafath app.
- Open the 'My Services' section and choose 'Services'.
- Select 'Reports' and then 'Documents' (or 'Alien Control').
- Your Iqama details, including the expiry date, will be displayed on screen.
Why Absher shows more than other methods
The public inquiries on the MOI and Qiwa portals are great for a quick validity check, but Absher goes further. Because it is your authenticated personal account, it shows your full document set, lets you see and manage exit and re-entry visas, and gives a richer view of your residency than an anonymous lookup can.
That extra capability is the reason it is worth setting up personal Absher access if you can, rather than relying only on public inquiries every time.
Common Absher problems
I do not have login credentials
If your employer registered the account, you may have no personal login. You can often register your own access via Nafath, or use the account-free MOI/Qiwa methods in the meantime.
Nafath will not approve my login
Make sure the Nafath app is installed, registered to you, and that you are confirming the correct number shown on screen. A working data connection on the phone is needed.
The portal is in Arabic
Use the language switch (EN / English) usually at the top of the page to switch the interface to English.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need the Absher app or the website?
Either works. The app is convenient for quick checks and Nafath approvals; the website offers the full desktop experience. Both reach the same services.
Is checking on Absher free?
Yes. Checking your Iqama and viewing documents is free; you only pay for paid transactions like visas or renewals.
What if I don't have Absher at all?
Use the MOI or Qiwa public inquiry, which need only your Iqama number. See our guide on checking without Absher.
Can I check this for free?
Yes. Checking your status through the official government portals is free of charge. You only pay when you carry out a paid transaction such as a renewal.
Do I need an Absher account?
Not always. While Absher is the most complete option, several checks also work through the MOI and labor ministry portals without a personal Absher login.
What details do I need?
Usually your Iqama number is enough. Some portals also let you search using your passport number, border number, date of birth or other details.
